How Much Media Do You Consume

In the media consumption over 24 hours I ended up consuming 8 hours of media. Most of these hours came from places I wouldn't really have thought of like a screen in a classroom or just being exposed to paper forms of media. What I wasn't surprised by is how much time I spent on my phone (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat etc.).  I don't think I spent as much time as other people would have but a little bit more than I thought I usually would. My original guess on how much media I would end up consuming daily was around 6 hours. Most of my media consumption that wasn't put in front of me (Mr. Young's video in class) was user created media such as talking to friends on snap chat or face book. The day that I tracked, I didn't watch many videos on Youtube or watch Netflix or turn on the television. Usually I would end up consuming a little bit every night but I was busy with work for school. I was also surprised that listening to already downloaded music counts as offline media consumption because there aren't any ads or news attached. I never multi task media mostly because I can't think straight and I get headaches if there are too many screens in front of me. I don't find that I am always online because I honestly don't have that many things to do on my phone so I tend to just unplug for a while at a time. So in conclusion, no I did not accurately guess my media consumption.
